Mortgage lending for non-residents
As an extension of our property development business, the Group established BC Invest, a mortgage lending business, to ensure that our purchasers in Australia could access mortgage funding regardless of their country of residence.
Today, BC Invest has become a leading provider of mortgage funding to non-resident purchasers in Australia. After entering into the UK market to an extremely positive initial response, BC Invest acquired Mortgageport, a well-established mortgage products provider in Australia, in October 2021. In FY2022, it raised a total of AUD800 million in RMBS issuances. In the same time period, it launched Australia’s first green market fund targeting green residential buildings and is building an asset management business to diversify its business model and financing sources. In August 2022, BC Invest successfully issued an AUD408 million RMBS bond. BC Invest has developed into a significant independent business that has attracted capital from a broad range of global financial institutions, private equity and credit funds including PAG and Metrics Credit Partners, who became shareholders of BC Invest in early 2019.
BC Invest is licensed in Australia, Hong Kong and Malaysia and has offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Singapore, Sydney and Shanghai.
